HANSARENT – Friends on wheels

Good to know

1. Identification
The renting person must present his/her credit card, driving license and passport or ID-card at the time of pickup. At the time of rental the renter and each additional driver must present a valid national driver’s licence, having been licensed as driver for at least 1 year (larger vehicles for at least 3 years). A provisional or a temporary license is not accepted.

Special Conditions
Driver’s licenses in Roman script issued by following countries are accepted in Estonia without the need for additional documentation:

– Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Central African Republic, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guyana, Holy See, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, Niger, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, FYR Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe.

International Driving Permit
If not in Roman script an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required to accompany the national driver’s licence.

If the national driver’s licence has been issued by following countries a valid IDP is mandatory:

– Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Fiji, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Laos, Lebanon, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Mali, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Uganda, United States of America and Venezuela.

The IDP alone is not accepted as driver’s licence unless it is accompanied by a valid national driver’s license.

Driver’s licenses issued by all other countries are not acceptable in Estonia.

2. Age
Minimum age requirement for renting Vehicle is 18 years. Young Driver Surcharge applies for drivers under the age of 25. Maximum age for renting from Hansarent is 75 years.

3. Accepted drivers
The vehicle is allowed to be operated only by person(s) accepted by Hansarent and given in the Rental Agreement. Additional drivers can be added to the Rental Agreement at the time of pickup for Additional Driver Fee. Allowing persons not accepted by Hansarent to operate the vehicle is strictly prohibited.

4. Rental car condition
When handed over to the Lessee, the vehicle is filled, washed and in a technically good condition. When receiving the car, we recommend inspecting it carefully and recording all damages (incl. scratches) in the rental agreement, as otherwise damages that had been present on the vehicle already before could be inflicted on you.

5. Cancellation of the order
The client shall have the right to cancel the order without penalty by notifying thereof in writing at least 4 working days prior to the day of providing the service.

In the event of cancelling the order 3 working days prior to the day of providing the planned rental service, Hansarent shall have the right to request 25% of the agreed cost of the service.

In the event of cancelling the order 2 working days prior to the day of providing the planned rental service, Hansarent shall have the right to request 50% of the agreed cost of the service.

In the event of cancelling the order less than 2 working days prior to the day of providing the planned rental service, Hansarent shall have the right to request 75% of the agreed cost of the service.

6. Credit card
VISA, EuroCard/MasterCard and American Express are accepted as form of payment. A credit card is required as guarantee when using other forms of payment. At pickup, a guarantee-deposit is reserved on Your credit card. A credit card must be on renting person`s name. There must be sufficient credit on the card to cover all possible charges. Credit card is not a requirement only in case of contractual customers whose contract includes full credit payment by company.

7. Legislation
The vehicle must only be used in accordance with traffic code, Estonian legislation, legislation in other countries the vehicle is being driven in, Qualifications and Requirements and Terms and Conditions of Rental. Violation of any of those renders the Renter fully responsible for any loss or damage resulted from the use of the vehicle. The responsibility can only be reduced in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of rental and legislation.

8. Driving restrictions
The vehicle is allowed to be used in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden and Norway. A stamped authorization from Hansarent is required when taking the vehicle out of Estonia. Border Crossing Fee applies.

If you wish to return the vehicle outside of Tallinn, an additional one-time collection fee shall be added to the rental price according to the city.

9. Rental Agreement
Rental Agreement is a formal agreement between you and the rental company, detailing the conditions set out for rental vehicle use. Including: vehicle information, duration of the rental and amount that you have agreed to pay for the rental. Before signing the rental agreement, make sure you understand the terms of conditions.

10. Validity of the Qualifications and Requirements / additional information
Hansarent reserves the right to change the Qualifications and Requirements without prior notice.

Hansarent shall have the right to refuse to rent out a vehicle.

Hansarent reserves the right to change the sales terms and conditions and rates.

All rates include value-added tax 20%.
